Gothic Arches - End of Summer
The end of summer for me is trees with rich changing colour, puffy clouds, and tiny wild flowers seeming to compete for space as the season closes...For this challenge I used some Japanese printed paper, Flower Soft in green and maroon and heather mix, a little bit of scrunched up material for the cloud and of course, a rubber stamp - this time my tree - I embellished with tiny glittered flowers, although they don't show up very well on the scan, and a couple of stick on tiny flowers. I hope you like it - it's a bit different to my norm.........

Blue Moon for the Circle challenge on Wednesday Stamper
Made this card today, and just before I uploaded it I looked through some of the lovely comments I have received, and following one, as you do, I came across the Wednesday Stamperblog and thought my card would be acceptable for their current challenge, Circles. I used a Penny Black stamp, Flying Stars, Joanna Sheen's Lace background paper and a huge circle punch, finishing with a tiny Hero Arts word stamp ....

Dans ma maison il y a...du orange
Here's my entry for the latest Dans ma maison il y a... challenge. I used fabric leaves, die cut flowers, a tiny acetate butterfly and a larger one cut from an old cigarette card. The background of my house was stamped and rubbed over with orange and cranberry inks and orange chalk .....and edged with dark red peel off strips. The Clouds over the moon stamp is from Imagina and the Wings of Love words is an Impreession Obsession stamp.

Gammon Steaks with Apricots.
I bought two lovely horseshoes of gammon ham the other night for dinner, and normally I bake them with pineapple rings - you know, the Gammon and Pineapple favourite .........well, I searched my cupboard and guess what - had run out of pineapple. The only thing I could find, apart from fresh fruit - was a tin of apricots, so I tried those instead, and goodness me but they were delicious - not sweet as I expected - just different. Try it !!

Pink Bling
I found some gorgeous huge brads a while ago and never used them because they were 'too pretty' to use, so they just ended up in my stash. Anyway, I thought of a use for one of the brads - with this Whipper Snapper elegant pussy cat stamp. I used a couple of paisley stamps for the background, from Elusive Images Three Kings christmas plate, and a tiny flower stamp that is so old the name rubbed of it. Finished with a tiny yellow gold brad for the cats nameplate and ....thats it..

Meatballs in Peanut Butter Sauce
Its cold today - typical English summer weather, rainy, soggy and miserable, so I will cheer us up with some meatballs in peanut butter sauce.
Another easy recipe !!
Pack of minced meat, either pork, beef or turkey - whichever you prefer.
An onion.
An oxo
and about 4 pudding spoonfuls of peanut butter, either crunchy or smooth, again, whichever you prefer.
Peel and halve the onion. Slice half thinly for the sauce, and chop the other half very finely for the meatballs.
Mix the mince and half onion thoroughly, no need to add an egg the meatballs should stay together. If you really need to though, a small egg or a bit of egg can be added, just to bind the mixture.
Make into tiny balls and fry in a drop of oil until cooked through, do them in batches and drain on kitchen paper.
Meanwhile, fry the other half an onion in a little knob of butter until soft, make the oxo up to around half a pint with boiling water - you need just enough stock to cover the meatballs.
When the onions are soft, add the oxo and stir until mixed, then slowly add the 4 spoonfuls of peanut butter, mixing well after each spoonful.
When it is well mixed, add the meatballs gently into the sauce and heat slowly until really hot.
Serve with creamed potatoes and green veg........scrummmmy !!!!

Penny Black
I love using these stamps - the simple silhouette design can be used in so many ways - I tried a different background technique - stamping a nearly dry stamp on the base card then placing my stamped image over it. I used black Stazon and alcohol inks on glossy photo card for the first one, and pearl grey card for the second, edging the white image with grey ink.
Torn Daisies
This is an Outlines stamp. I stamped the image twice and tore one image in half and then tore a bit more off the middle section, the sepia is stamped on silk finish card and the charcoal on matt, although it doesn't really show up. I placed the two halves over the base image for the finished look.......and stamped a Hero Arts greeting.
The fancy gold edge is ric rac, originally bought to trim a lampshade.
